Argentina

Partner customs broker in Buenos Aires and Ezeiza, with our follow-up on the destinación.

Argentina is the fastest-moving framework of the six. Customs moved from AFIP to ARCA, and the rules on access to foreign currency and on licensing shift often. Operating here means checking the framework in force on the day of filing, not the day of shipment.

What decides the operation here

  • The channels are green, orange and red. Orange is document control, the equivalent of yellow elsewhere in the region.
  • ARCA is the legal successor of AFIP; its Customs Directorate is the body that intervenes in the operation.
  • The NCM is the Mercosur one, compatible with Brazil and Uruguay.
  • The currency side weighs as much as the customs side: the operation is planned against both calendars.
Selectivity in Argentina

3 possible outcomes when the declaration is filed

Every country names its channels its own way, but the logic is the same: the system decides how much gets reviewed, and that drives the days in storage. These are the ones in Argentina.

Green channel

Release without verification.

Orange channel

Document control of the destinación.

Red channel

Physical verification of the goods.

The operation does not end in Argentina
