Uruguay
Partner broker in Montevideo, focused on free zone operations and transit into the region.
Uruguay works less as a final destination than as a platform: its free zone regime and free port let you consolidate, store and re-export into the rest of Mercosur without clearing the goods for consumption. Used well, it changes the logistics structure of an entire regional operation.
What decides the operation here
- The DUA covers import, export and transit under a single document in the LUCIA system.
- The free zone allows storing and re-exporting without clearance, with tax deferred to the real destination.
- Montevideo operates under a free port regime, which simplifies transhipment into Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay.
- The Mercosur NCM keeps classification aligned with your Brazilian and Argentine operations.
Selectivity in Uruguay
3 possible outcomes when the declaration is filed
Every country names its channels its own way, but the logic is the same: the system decides how much gets reviewed, and that drives the days in storage. These are the ones in Uruguay.
Green channel
Direct release.
Red channel
Physical verification.
